For the Jezza and the glass overflowing crew, I'm wondering if you still say us making the finals this year. There were quite a few people who thought we would do it when we the tipping was done here pre season due to the fact that we had a good draw, plenty of home games and the best squad in years. What are the thoughts now?

Historically, the top 8 rarely changes much except for positions by this stage of the season. I've only looked briefly at our fixtures, and not if it's home or away, but including this week we play nine sides above us and five sides below us.

In the prediction thread I had us finishing in the 9-14 group. Nothing has changed. I expected 10-12 wins, we will be at the lower end of that.

I'm pleased we have debuted so many new players this year and are giving game time to other young guns like Luke Ryan and Alex Pearce. The guys we have debuted are adjusting well and I think we have the nucleus of a good side in another couple of seasons. When we play well like we did early against Eseendon and for almost a whole game against the Suns we look great, but we wilt under pressure and are soft on contested ball, that is due to having so many young guys in the team.

Yes there is still gloom, but some rays of sunshine are peaking out from the clouds.

Glass half full - there are still 8 games at Optus Stadium + away games against Carlton & Collingwood. 12 - 13 wins gets you into the finals.


Glass half empty - haven't beaten anyone above us on the ladder + haven't beaten Hawthorn & Slime for over 3 years. Possible 100 point beltings & poor % at the end of the season.

Realistic - 10 wins sounds about right. Coupled with a poor % finals are not in the equation unless significant improvement is found on current form.

CA, we have kept our 1st rounder and the next pick will be 80 odd as it stands. Just think we need to sort this key forward problem out once and for all. Will need one early pick to do this.

Hopefully GC take Danyle Pearce for their pick 4.

As probably the most negative person on this site I had us bottom 4. I think we will finish slightly better than that, but part of that is because a few teams have unexpectedly fallen off a cliff this year. We essentially still have the same problem we have had since our inception- lack of decent forwards.

Unfortunately Apeness hasn’t worked out well at least not yet anyway......and if the club did have a plan b that hasn’t come to fruition either

Until we fill that void we are going to struggle a bit as McCarthy and others aren’t able to play the role they are best suited to. Hogan could be interested in coming home in a few years with a big offer but that is probably more unlikely than likely

The dogs and Richmond whilst still not having a superstar full forward still had a few blokes that could clunk one and offer a target to straighten things up in terms of delivery in the forward 50

The best we can hope for in the short term is Apeness comes good and we get a decent big bloke in the next draft bit that won’t see results for a while

At least we dodged a bullet with Cloke and he was dumb enough to turn down a huge offer

I reckon we will finish 11th this year so should get pick 9 or thereabouts
