I have found over the journey that betting agencies, while not perfect, are very good at determining who is going to win a game of football. I'm assuming the ones that are bad at it don't exist anymore. It's noteworthy that we've started as rank outsiders in every away game this year.
I've also found that most posters on here don't rate our coach at all, and consider that he's holding the team back from greatness (or at least very goodness). They spend a fair amount of time dissecting just how badly we played the previous game, even when that game is a win.
And yet by about Thursday something strange happens: suddenly we've got a team capable of beating the best in the competition away from home. Maybe people think our players have improved over the week, or the coach might call in sick, but it seems not only divorced from reality, but divorced from everything posted in the previous four days.
I'm not sure if it greenshoots of optimism popping out from the usual doom or gloom, a coping strategy, or a subconscious way to pave the way for even more bagging of Lyon the following week. Whatever it is, it's a bit strange.
That said, I reckon we'll roll Sydney this weekend.
