Want to hear something really depressing ? Based on current ladder position we'll get pick 7 in this upcoming draft and next pick will be in the 80s somewhere.

On a more positive note: Logue, Wilson, Sonny, Hills and Tabs is a third of our best 18 not playing.

Our midfield contains four first year players plus Tucker and Langdon who have both played fewer than 50 games. That's a very inexperienced engine room and one which would probably feel more comfortable playing alongside Hill, Hill, Walters and Wilson.

There are going to be a few more beltings this year, so enjoy the ugly win against an uglier opponent and have a happy Mothers' Day.

So glad I don’t know as much about footy as most of you. I really enjoyed the win last night . Loved Cerra’s poise, Brayshaws tenacity and Langdon’s run and of course Fyfe. Before the game thought we would lose with most of our most skillful players out.

If we want depth we need to keep and develop players who aren't currently good enough to get a game. Players like Kersten and T-bone need to develop.
But watching us yesterday you realise how important the old guys are. Sandi, Ballas, D Pearce, Johnno, Fyfe, Mundy and Neale. Fyfe and Neale may be there when we are a force again in a couple of years. The others will be gone, but they deserved their place yesterday. It will be a couple of years before the young guys carry the team.
If you look at the slime, they have a few good young players, but their core is experienced. Kennedy, Darling, Le Cras, Gaff, Shuey, Notacluey, Lycett, Hurn, Shepherd, Masten, Schofield, Hutchings, Jetta, McKenzie and some other 25 year+ players.
For us its obvious to me that A Pearce, Ryan, Tabs, Darcy, Cerra, Brayshaw, Gray, Langdon, Blakely, Banfield and possibly Logue, Hughes and Crowden will be (or already are) awesome (or at least very useful). I'm definitely seeing the glass half full. Just not quite ready to drink yet.

At 4 n 4 I am also a half full observer, BUT, I have doubts about Tommy the t boner's capacity to develop. I can't see how he can get to first 22 level in a good side. Not sure about Kersten either but he seems more capable physically at least.

PP, Collingwood and NM mightn't sound too scary but they are playing a lot better than we are. North pushed Richmond today. Compare that to our embarrassing effort against them last week. They also beat Sydney in Sydney. We play them there next week. Not thinking we will take the points there I'm afraid.
