I'd like to see one of our coaches or CEO occasionally say something along these lines when it comes to umpiring. The way he did it makes sure that you know the umpiring was not, in his eyes, good enough but not so critical that it would draw a fine.
We never seem to question any poor umpiring or MRP, just accept whatever is thrown at us.

The way I see it, there is no point complaining about the umpiring. You are better off saying that you are going to have to address your teams tendency to give away free kicks in certain situations, or how good your opposition were at executing certain things without giving away frees. The umps will know full well that you are having a go at them, but since you've stated it as a failing or skill of the players, the AFL can hardly do anything about it.
But I suppose you might get into trouble if you praise Richmond for their ability to drop the ball without giving away free kicks.

Roger, every time a coach comes out and has a go at the umpiring, we see a correction by the men in whatever color they are this week.The club could at least show that they understand the rules, and that they understand that some of the interpretations seem to be flexible where we are concerned. We saw countless examples again with the holding the ball/illegal disposal again tonight, as well as the blocking in marking contest and player tackled and going over the boundary line.

for once I agree with the boofheads on Access All Areas, who called Clarko’s bluff and showed footage of Hawks players (well, Isaac Smith anyway) getting away with exactly the same tactics he was complaining about

Clarkson is a sook, and without a junior footy umpire to abuse, he decided to whinge to the media and organise a coffee with his mate the AFL CEO. That Gil took the meeting demonstrates what a weak CEO he is.

That said, the umps would be remiss not to take a very, very close look at Sydney’s rampant cheating at least for the next round. Anyone know who they’re playing?

I can't see that Clarkson would want to leave Victoria and in particular, Hawthorn.

If there was a chance to get him though, the club would be mugs not to at least look at it.

The downside to the whole idea though is....Brad Hardie. Has he ever had an idea based in reality?
