So one player was a disgrace? I find that very peculiar. Around 20 others didn't run hard enough for the greater part of the game. Disgraceful? Harsh description for any young footballer on the team you supposedly follow.

I had a look at the stats for the Rich game and to be fair, Crowden was the least productive. So perhaps Hughes was a tad unlucky but If Crowden was dropped in place of Pearce, there would have been more angst. Hughes was one I thought that would have a breakout year. There’s still time.

I don’t know that D Pearce selection is a good thing but it is an understandable thing. We will perform better with him in “this” team others just aren’t ready.
It looks to me like the selection team knows what games it must win. Last week was unacceptable for many reasons but one was for evidence of a rebuild on track.
I was hoping at the start of this season for a style of play being evident, elimination of limp performances, reliably beating the lesser teams and the emergence of talented players. So far we are on track in three of these areas.
