Many won’t like my response but suffice to say the Freo brand was instilled in me years before we came into the comp. 2 of my high school chums were Sth Freo colts in 1976 and no doubt followed their careers after moving east. There was no way I’d barrack for the Sime when they emerged so when 1995, a Freo team was announced, needless to say I was on board. So I’m not one to jump ship regardless of the storm. I hear the heartache but there’s still a beat. I hear the anguish but it can be overcome. If it’s a new hierarchy that we need, so be it. We’ve had several. And that goes for the coaches to. But I’m immuned to all that because they’re not the ones that go to battle each week. That’s why I’ll be there this weekend and every time the purple are on display. All the disharmony will not rock my purple reign.

Lets keep some perspective here. Johnno has done some questionable things in his time at the club and the club has stuck by him. Its not as simple as "the club doesn't look after indigenous players". Which isn't to say that I don't think the club could do better. It could, and maybe there is need for a change in culture.

I know I'm 15 hours late in replying to Drubbing and while I agree with his points

I always wondered the relevance of an Anchor.. given they are not used when docked ??

We could mould the anchor into a bollard. Would that work?

If by some chance it turned out that someone at a club had not provided the entire truth to an AFL investigation, do you think the AFL would impose some sort of sanction on the hypothetical club?

How many souvenir jumpers would the supporters of such a club be expected to purchase to cover any fines?

I think if you listed a dozen symbols of maritime industry, family feud style, an anchor would be right up there.

It's fair to say that the current managerial framework at the club doesn't encourage a holistic view of the world, or even why clubs exist. Their philosophies and actions are heavily skewed. Callous. Yet feeble. To the point that it is pretty darn obvious ethical standards are escorted to one end of the room and smothered with a chloroform soaked handkerchief.

And, seriously, there aren't words to describe the sick despair I'm feeling that El Presidente and king of coastal plain banksia woodland destruction, Alcock, is living up to his name by his inconspicuousness at this time.

Leadership has rarely been a quality associated with the Fremantle [Dockers] Football Club. As a founding member, this makes me sad. Really sad. And so, once again we find ourselves bearing 999 cuts and the club just this close to being dead to us.

It's not time for support right now. No more. The support and respect is there within plenty of us. It's time to hold it back and let the "leaders" at the club demonstrate they deserve it before we give any more.

CA, been Freo from day 1, and it was the Neesham attitude to coaching at the Tigers that convinced me to jump on board. I was a Pies supporter before that, so am used to copping a bit of abuse. My favourite footy pre Freo, was to go to the WACA with my eagles hating, but WACA member, sister, whenever I was up from the bush, for the Pies games and get stuck into the eagles. Sis used to buy my beers for the weekend, and reckoned she always got value for money. I had to watch my back at half time, but survived.

" But I will say that if we were 7 wins from 7 games, then there would be no problem at all, and only Yeti and Hypen would be upset."

Add me to that list, we were something like that in 2015, and have been sliding to where we are now ever since. I will take a new coach and admin, over a 7-zip start to the season with the current lot.

For me the mark of a good leader is a bloke that's willing to hump it over to Subway to get his lunch.

A symbol of maritime industry. A symbol of maritime industry. A symbol. Of maritime industry.

Chevrons.

Raelene says a symbol of maritime industry is... chevrons. OK. For the beautifully-bound three volume set of dictionaries from Encyclopedia Brittanica, survey says...

But what if the players are happy with the coach and admin? We'd be shooting ourselves in the foot by cranking up a revolution.

If the players aren’t happy then I'm all for a change. Anyone got any FACTS on player views?

This is largely beside the point, but I read recently somewhere that the angle of the chevrons on the jumper is the same as the stylistic v of anchor on the logo.

So, you could say there's a symbolic link to the anchor on the jumper.....

....but not really.

If the players are happy with that lot, we might need to change the players as well.

Morgan, I'm picturing someone falling past the 30th floor of a skyscraper desperately trying to grab a stem of dry grass growing out of a crack on the side of the building.
That whole re-branding exercise really annoyed me. I've avoided buying any merchandise ever since. That would have cost the club, oh, about $20 - but its the principle that counts...

I reckon the current jumper looks a heap better than the old one. I am obviously in the minority.

I can’t think of anything else that they have done that I like.
