KK I believe we turn it over because we are so static in our tall forwards. Players have to start in the forward line and lead at the footy, not just stand where they think it will land and wrestle an opponent til it gets there, or be running in just before the flight of the footy clogging up space.

That is also the problem with our kicking from defense, all our forwards are up the ground so no-one has a clear space to lead into. The kicking has to be pinpoint, rather than to grass in front of the teammate, because there is no grass (space) in front of him. Players kicking out under pressure need the margin of error that space provides. Look at Walters when he plays forward of the ball, he forces the rest of his teammates to leave him space, then he uses that space, not many kicks to him are lace out on the tit, but because the teammate only has to put the ball in space in front of him, he has a much greater target area and more margin of error.

Dropping Hughes or Tucker by the end of the year? As in one or the other is quite a suggestion. Yet we have been playing the likes of Sheridan, Sutcliffe for about 6 years with no marked improvement or development. And no, Johnno would not have made us any better today. He would have picked up some cheap disposals as a loose player, got thrashed in the ruck, beaten in anything involving actual running or contested marking and would have made the usual 3 or 4 howlers resulting in scoring opportunities. Finito la musika!

Critics - if we had played Danyle, Sheridan et al would you be crying “play the kids!”. Well, we are playing the kids and, unsurprisingly, they are playing LIKE kids. Flashes of promise, mistakes, lack of cohesion with their team mates...don’t you remember where Richmond were before their stars aligned? Everyone just stick it out and continue to do what WE can do and support our team!

They got 89 points from turnovers, we got 26.

Inexperience cost us the game but the game will be good experience for the young group.

Damn if you do damn if you don’t. Like I said, the kids were probably still not ready for the big time but the natives were getting restless. Rich pasted us by 100+ last year at Domain with Darcy, Cox, Ryan and Logue. This time it was by 70+, with another 4 newbies in AB, AC et al. If people want a new coach to take this rebuild on, it’ll stall the damn thing. Should Roly be given an opportunity to see it through to 2020, there will be sunshine. At this stage I’m a little nervous.

Jezza are you saying Cox is the issue? Thank god, let’s just drop Cox. I never liked the name anyway.

They scored a lot from turnovers, but that is just logical. We win the clearance, and have possession, so if they win the match, it must be because they got the ball off us - a turnover.

DBTS, it might be better to simply change his name. Leigh sounds much better than Brennan IMHO.

Following that theory to it's logical conclusion, RR, if we play from the first bounce with a forward line in place, do a lot more skills work at training so we hit those forward targets, kick goals instead of points, and keep winning the center clearances, we will win every week AND have a hell of a good percentage. Something for Lyon & co to think about. Playing to our strengths (Centre clearances).

If Stephen Hill was unfit to play, then against the Tigers that would have been a perfect occasion to rest him and bring in D Pearce.
