Back page of today’s rag “ Top of the World”. Coupled that with FFC’s issues on and off the field thus far, fair to say after nearly 25 years, they still rule this town. Perhaps even after their issues with some bad stuff during the mid 2000s, it’ll never taint their brand. Not sure how the FFC can compete with that.

Yes we all know about the media bias in this state but as much as we would hate to admit it they seem to have cleaned up their act and done the right thing off the field since their druggy days.
They are also one of the top teams whether you like it or not. Them, Sydney, Hawthorn and Geelong rarely miss the finals.
Personally I think their coach is underrated and ours is overrated and they have a better administration team.
So yes, they are doing better than us on and off the field, and of course with the umpires. They don't have a great deal of room for improvement whereas we do.

Winning more games and people treatment, that sounds like it’s a cultural change. So since 1995, seems like not much have changed. So any suggestions. New coach, new admin perhaps new players. I haven’t got another 25 years to wait.

You'd think the AFL would like our club, given that Freo treat their members the same was as the AFL treats everyone. A source of money, that you can mostly take for granted.

But the umpires is a problem the AFL don't want to fix. Going down and watching your team play is a much more pleasant experience when the umps give you an armchair ride. The AFL and the clubs want as many people at the game as possible, so they don't particularly care if the umps are blatantly biased in favour of the home side. Most visiting teams just pencil in their WA game as a loss. The only time its going to make headlines is if a result in WA really matters to a darling-of-the-media Vic side. I can't be bothered doing the hard yards and looking it up, but watch for local games where Margetts and Dalgleish don't get a guernsey.

I'm with you. I don't know if I've got another 25 years to wait.
It gets to me. The start of each season I think we're on the improve and that they will slide(particularly this year)but the status quo stays much the same. Yes, they still might slide but give Simpson his due, he seems to get the best out of what appears to be a pretty ordinary list with little depth. He rarely gets any plaudits in the media either whereas Roly is often talked up.
I've never been a fan of the new regime at Fremantle since they decided to make wholesale changes with little or no thought or consultation with the supporters and that doesn't mean i don't think change is good, it's the way you go about it. To me they have what appears to be a superior, aloof manner. But maybe that's just me.
One thing I do like is the willingness of players to return home and want to play for Fremantle so something must be right.
Maybe I'm just getting ground down. A win out of the blue today would restore my faith and shut a few people up.

The Eagles make good decisions at the draft table, they recognise that skilled talls are rare and irrespective of whether they immediately need them or not if they are available they take them. Last year they needed midfielders but they took Allen and Brander cause they were there. Mids account for 80 per cent of the draft.

Compare that to the wasted years of 13 -16.

We are paying not for recent draft position but for recent draft failure.

And as for Rosich and Lyon well they are not good people.

And can I add that I had the misfortune to be driving up to Perth from Mandurah before the game yesterday, and there was a traffic jam from Mount Henry Bridge caused by slimers aiming to take the Canning Bridge freeway exit. I'm guessing they park at the casino and walk. They really are allergic to public transport.
