I never said they weren't doing okay but he's doing a lot better. You didn't actually respond to anything i said though.
I'm sorry but I don't agree that we used our top picks well in the last two drafts. Logue is a project player who was a basketballer who only took up football in his teens and has a long way to go.
Brayshaw seems like a good young kid who will be a steady player and will always go okay. I'd like to think he may one day maybe as good as Lachie Neale. These types of players though are never tagged as they don't hurt the opposition enough even if they do pick up a lot of disposals. He was never thought of as top ten pick by other clubs as his type of midfielders can be picked up lower in the draft. e.g. Neale
In my way of thinking though you use these gold picks on someone exciting who has the potential to change a game or win it off their own boot. Or a hard to find kpp with potential. Stephenson is like that, Brandner already looks good kicking goals and showing good signs at EP. People have said that Kelly wouldn't have been worth an early pick. Why not? He's quick, got great skills, is evasive and he gets hold of the ball-a lot!. In fact he doesn't appear to have too many weaknesses, but because he is 23 he's too old to be picked too early? We needed him in the midfield now more than a young Brayshaw.
On the other hand Cerra does have some of that x factor about him and I believe we've done better lower in the draft. Ryan and Banfield look like long term prospects and are already in our best 22.
