I agree we didn't always go in high and long but from memory only McCarthy actually looked for and hit a target in the forward 50. Other than that, we mostly went in high and long.
I'm not saying we should never do it. I am saying that if most of our entries are like that, we will get picked off by teams with good marks in defence and the eagles are particularly good in that area.
Yes our mids got beaten yesterday by a team who are supposed to have a crap midfield but that doesn't excuse repeated stupidity. We played to their strengths. Its not a brilliant revelation as we have all seen it before.
I can't say I expected change from the previous 5 Derby losses but I hoped for it. I am still convinced that had we not kicked so many long entries that allowed the defenders to get to the ball, we would have won that game yesterday.
As I've said, we can't control the maggots, we don't even try to address that. We can control how we do things and we are too predictable. The better teams will always have us playing on their terms and not ours
