Pearce was really good today. From memory JK got his goals from short hit-ups when West Coast was streaming into the 50m. Not much you can do about those.
I thought Hamling was below his best today, and I thought he played a little too loose on Darling. Perhaps that was on instruction, but whenever he was body on body with Darling he had him covered. It was when Darling was in space and the rush kick came in I thought Hamling was a bit exposed.
But all-in-all, given that West Coast had 10 more inside 50s and smashed us in the clearances, I thought the defence held up really well. Wilson's kicking is a thing of beauty, and I reckon he might have gone ahead of Walters as the best kicking the team (but not at goals obviously).
