I had forgotten that Slappo tried to tell a very young Pav he was a naughty boy, but had to do it while backing up at speed.

And Dale Kickett, if you are reading this, I have never varied from the belief that you are one of Freo's greatest players. Mainly for your footy ability, courage when you knew that others were going to get a big hit in on you, and your loyalty to your teammates.

What happened that day was not started by you, and was in no way your fault. I think that a media vilification was put in place on you to take the spotlight away from some pretty dirty tactics from Read, Gardener and others in the eagles side. Hold your head high because from that day on, Freo were never bullied into submission.

If you ever needed an excuse to boo Glendinning, the last week has provided that in spades.

I'm also marveling at the contortions the sycophantic media is going through to try and blame Fremantle for thugboy Gardiner's antics before the first siren. Not to mention Read continually taking cheap shots at Kickett throughout the game. Like others, I've watched with disgust as the so called sports journos hung Kickett out to dry to protect their favourite mummy's boys who could dish it out but folded like a pack of cards when it came back.

All you could hear was wahwahwah so so a sacrificial goat was needed. Kickett deserved better and still does.

Of course Gardiner was the victim here because the sight of a young Matt Pavlich so frightened the little sook that he had to throw punches before the siren, an act he committed both before and since. Ask the cops what they think of Gardiner.

This week is a perfect summation of the slime. Cowardly, dishonest and a protected species because not a single 'sport journo' has ever had the nads to hold them to account. I wouldn't cross the road to kick one of those pricks
