TOPIC: Tim English

I remember a number of Dockerlanders suggesting that Tim English would be a useful pick up before he was drafted. Based on last night’s game I think they were spot on. Very impressive given our expectations that big players take time to develop - he is well ahead of the curve.

He came up against the outstanding ruckman of the era and, although Sandi destroyed him, there were some good signs.
With Darcy coming through we had no need for him, but Tim will do well.

On the subject of Sandi, The Age’s WA stringer Brad Elborough couldn’t find a spot in our best players for him. Not for the first time, I truly wonder if Brad actually goes to the games he sort of covers.

Agree, Sandi was one of our 3 or 4 most important players yesterday. I think they just tend to take him for granted (unlike some other ruck superstar from WA, where they constantly gush because they are surprised he did anything...)

With Fyfe and Walters Sandi was in our best 3. He monsteredEnglish and Boyd.

English will be a good player good skills for a tall and takes a good mark. Just needs to stay out of the sun.

The injury to Darcy was untimely. Our bloke I reckon is better than English. Then throw in Lloyd Meek, Scott Jones and whenever Apeness is up and about, we've got enough ruck talent available when Sandi departs. But as it stands, Sandi is in career best form and while he's belting the opposition, I say let the beast create havoc. Together with Mundy and MJ, I'm hoping that we get them a premiership before the curtain drops.

Loved how Sandi ran down the Bulldogs player and got a holding the ball decision. He also showed a big of mongrel and aggression in some of his actions around the ground too. He is in very good form.

Tim English was good around the ground and obviously was far more mobile than Sandi. English was taught a lesson in the ruck department/taps but as others have stated, his future looks very bright.

When Sandi takes a Proton Pill,
The opposition begin to worry;
They can't escape their awful fate
From Sandi's mighty fury.

Post-game Sandi went out of his way to step over to the Bullies group and call out Tim for a handshake and an encouraging back-slap. Good on him - 211 is one in a million.

There are seven billion people on this Godforsaken rock. That's the number Sandi is one in of.

We wanted to name our next dog Sandi, but I can't afford the food.

Let’s remind ourselves the last time Sandi played against Notacluey in the Derby. And I’m sure the big fella hasn’t forgotten either. I’m tipping Sandi will up his dosage of angry pills next Sunday.

Chuck Meek in as the second ruckman, he looked ok in the pre season games.

Sandi did have a bit of **"" on the liver, didn't he? My son said to me he reckons Sandi must have reached that age where he can't stand being around kids.

Ragdolling English was one thing, moidering that Guiness-headed ex-East Freo boy another. Fresh after physically correcting one Dog, he just butters up and smashes JJ.

Loved it.
