I don't think it's a conspiracy, I just don't think we are given much thought.
The bean counters at clubs care about TV exposure, and we get none. That has to hurt out sponsorship.
This year is difficult with ANZAC Day falling right in the middle of a week, but even under those most difficult of circumstances, you can't say a club - let's say the Bulldogs - would turn their back on a stand-alone ANZAC Day eve game, especially if it was backed up by a stand-alone Monday night game at home the following week.
The AFL could easily make it happen if it wanted.
