Is it a good thing or a bad thing that our two highly touted draft picks are not performing whilst two other under the radar names are? I know they don't mean everything but fantasy points rated Crowden at 7, Banfield at 9 whilst Brayshaw was 18 and Cerra 21.
Don't know if they were injured and it's early on but I was hoping for better.

There’s nothing bad about our draftees performance to date. It’s games under their belt and the experience of travelling every second week. Can they sustained the rigours of the season proper without breaking them. This will no doubt be a balancing act of the wins and losses we have.

Yes, I realise they are the future but that doesn't mean that they should get a game gifted to them each week just because of that, especially when they're not performing.

We're in the business of winning games and you can't carry a midfielder who is struggling to get double digit disposals and a half forward who's not kicking goals.

Nothing wrong with going back to Peel for a spell and getting their confidence back. It's happened to most players when they are first starting out. I'm pretty sure that 's the way it works at other clubs.

See how North goes for Peel this week. Duman is regularly in the best and can't get a look in. Nyhuis did more in his 2 or 3 games but he was not perserved with and his cards look marked.

Banfield has been a revelation and Crowden has improved each week. I think it says a lot about players that have been drafted from a state league compared to U/18s. Easier to look good in all those videos they show around draft time when you're playing against 16-18 yr olds.

Definitely rotate the young ones back through peel if they need to see more of the ball. But do not bring in the same old older players...keep putting games into the new wave...eventually they will get it.

At ease men! I see a litmus test in our old foe next week....lets see how they're hanging at the end of round 5.

The newbies are at the same or better level than nearly all other first round picks so a bit of perspective is required.

To match GWS we need two Fyfes, two Mundys and a Paton or three........give North and co a go and see what happens we may unearth another Banfield or Blakely.

I’m calling it early (probably way too early!!). Cerra will be the best of these picks. Brayshaw will be a serviceable 150+ player but will be an accumulator rather than a game changer. I hope Banfield is allowed to be more than a tagger - he’s too good for that role. Crowden is anyone’s guess.

I sat through today, appalling conditions and interesting oval! I thought Crowden and banfield were great, they made mistakes but they competed really well and both can read the play and find the ball. Cerra was forward a few times near us and had "rabbit in the headlight" eyes. There was immense pressure and delivery was pretty crap as mitigating circumstances. I think Brayshaw needs a rest, not sure about Cerra but leave the other two as they are both growing into their roles. I'd love to see Banfield improve his kicking.

Brayshaw stikes me as a guy who is going to improve steadily over many years in the league. I doubt he'll ever be as flashy as some of the other high picks this year - Stephenson, for example, looks like he could be a potential match-winner for Collingwood - but I reckon he was a good, safe choice. I'd be inclined to give him a spell next week, and if he goes ok for Peel, bring him back for the Derby to see what it's about learn how to hate the other mob.

I remember when Fyfe started he looked like he know how to play the game but wasn't physically ready. Cerra has a of that about him. I reckon he'll go ok.

Mundy, if I remember correctly, was ordinary - sortof - for many of his early games but played 100 straight. I'm looking forward to the next few elevations too.
