Definitely noticed it at the game and then when watching the replay was pleased to hear the commentators talking up Banfield's tagging job on Hall. Second game as a tagger at AFL level and after his job on Merrett last week to keep Hall to the lowest disposal tally on the ground was bloody brilliant.
GC tried to put him off his task, plenty of body work, in his face, etc, but he had the composure of a seasoned tagger. Not too often a tagger gets a Rising Star nomination but hope he does as he deserves it.

Okay, now to our other first year players. I thought Cerra was down on last week, but a better game from Crowden.

Where to at this early stage for Brayshaw? His output has dropped steadily each week since the pre season games?
Yes I know he is going to win the rising star this year(according to Jezza) but does he need a week or two back at Peel? 7 disposals for a midfielder just doesn't cut it no matter if you're young or old.

I'm no big Tucker fan but he was dropped with a better disposal and efficiency count and has answered with two weeks in a row at Peel with 30+ tallies.

Persevere or have a break, particularly if The Yap is back. If a change is to be made who else would go before him?

He's just 18, fresh out of school with his first pre season behind him. His game is focused on hard tackling and running so I think the JLT games and the first 2 games have left him fatigued and the kid needs a break. Rest him soon to fresh him up in my opinion.

Yes freshen him up for the Derby onslaught in round 6.

I’m picking Liam Ryan will get this weeks nod.
I went to that game yesterday (I haven’t felt that dirty since a little accident in Year 8) and the ooftit supporters have taken to the little fella to the point where Notacluey should be looking for a new publicist.
And the kid can play.

I would love to know what role Brayshaw, Crowden, Cerra have been instructed to perform. The pressure forward?..apparently a stifling and limited role where a player keeps grinding away at pressure and little else. We can all see Banfield's role, obvious. I will call the club and ask for a bit of time with the coaching panel. Stay tuned.

Ryan is only getting those goals because he’s been left unattended. In the 2 WAFL GFs, he was blanketed by our Peel bloke, Nyhuis I think. As for AB, he’s an inside mid, does the grunt work, like Ollie Wines. Allows blokes like Fyfe and Neale to go forward. I’m sure he’ll be rested at some point but we’ll let the cobblers do the cobbling. For mine BB will be the RS this week.

Since when have taggers ever been rewarded?

Game against the GWS midfield / runners (Coniglio, Whitfield, Sheil) away from home will be great experience for our 4 first year players. As will the Dogs’ mids and then the derby.

If after that they need a break sure.

If Brayshaw had kicked straight he’d have 2 majors from yesterday.

Ryan Crowley won a Doig
Although not quite good enough to win a Clinton Wolf

Okay forget the rising star, I'm now more concerned with Grub and his little accident in Yr 8. Is that how you got the name?

Jezza, you realise it's an AFL wide thing and not just the Fremantle players.

I thought Brayshaw was good against Essendon and had 16 possessions which is pretty good for the limited game time he would have had. Quieter yesterday but premature to say that he's tired. I hope he plays against GWS.

Crowden covered 14km according to the paper.. I'm not sure how many of those km was to do with running from the far wing to the bench, but still was up there in our top 3.

Apart from Tucker, no one else at peel is really pushing for a midfield selection. D Pearce doesn't come into my considerations here.
