Lyon is already grooming Kersten to take over as the third tall from Johnson. He is playing him in that role at Peel so he can get used to the change, I expect he will possibly be playing in that role later in the year to give Johnson a breather

I think this is the fallback position for failed forwards and it doesn’t do justice to the position.
Since Liam Jones supposedly resurrected himself last year (and as stated there were a few before that) I think it’s last chance saloon for players that coaches have given up on. Majak - I’m looking at you.
Jones has since been found out I think and I reckon it’s just lazy coaching.

If we are looking for a Johnno replacement we are going to be disappointed. Having a 195cm backman who can read the play, take a mark and find a creative outlet is a once-in-a-generation thing. What brings to the team will be spread along a few different players - perhaps Cox for his marking, Wilson for the kicking etc. A fit Logue with a few games under his belt could add even more dash to the team. That would be all-the-way exciting.

Kersten is a pretty good mid-sized footy player without an obvious role. We already have one of those with CamMac, who looks better every week he plays.

We made it work with Chris Tarrant, might be able to do it again. Kersten isn't AFL level as a forward, he may not be as a defender either but if we don't try to find a spot for him then we may as well cut him at the end of his contract, this gives him some hope and a possible option for us.

Kersten's choice does he want to be the next Chris Tarrant or the next Jack Anthony
