Shouldn't you be using the youngsters as a excuse to avoid hold Roly responsible for something?

As for being world beaters, we are not even close. Had GCS not turned over the ball a little more than we did the result may have been reversed. No matter what crap you post Jezza in the first half we kicked 1. 7 from set shots. Thats a reflection of skills that are not good enough.

We need to improve. The better sides won't let us back in like today.

If you continue to be a Lyon parrot, don't be surprised to get ridiculed for it.

13.18 shows a lot of effort for crap reward, and the ability to lose a game despite smashing the goals. This is entirely down to skills.

Pay attention to how many times Nick fal Setto asked players about sticking to their patterns and being rebuffed...

that's one of the old Lyon's players asking a pointed question about sticking to the plan as opposed to playing a more natural attacking style.

RoLy was asked the same thing in the pre game interview... will you stick to patterns or let them play a more attacking style. The post game presser featured questions on the same topic.

This is NOT the old Ross Lyon coaching for now. This is a different approach and Blind Freddy could see that. I hope he sticks with it and doesn't get freaked out and revert back to that horrible old style of grinding, control footy.

Wake up and smell the patchouli Jezza. Whatever is going on has nothing to do with your parrotting of mindless positivity and more to do with a realisation that things weren't working and a new approach was needed.

Do your hero the honour of recognising and acknowledging that at least.

So Jezza, 31 shots on goal and couldn't reach 100 points.

We kicked 13.18 on a fine day with little breeze, no rain and against a side that isn't likely to trouble too many good sides. Challenges don't come a lot easier in this game.

We had 70 turnovers today. So far thats easily the highest turnover rate for this round with the exception of GCS who had 76.

If you are trying the talk that up and pretend the critics of that don't have any idea, then good luck to you but don't expect most people to just follow along without thinking.

A good side would have hurt badly with a performance like ours today. Fortunately, we didn't play a good side.

Fair call. It’s more about the roles Roly has given to Beanfield and the like. Keeping Aaron Hall to his lowest stat of his career is what I was trumpeting. Anyhow well played Freo, Fyfe and Roly.

In the first 5 minutes of the game I saw enough to know it was going to be one of those "turnover" days. Maybe that's the opposition pressure. I don't know. To me they didn't look on.

The two are not necessarily alternatives, Morgan but In my view are two sides of the same coin.

Where we did well with the kicking was from the half back line. Wilson in particular kicks extremely well - long, accurate and almost always to a player in the clear. Hamling isn't too shabby either.

We broke down mostly moving into the forward 50. There is some good and bad in that from my observations. We have reduced our bombing into the forward 50 and instead we are looking for targets. Thats the good.

The bad is we are missing those targets too often and some of our decision making is poor. G Smiley is right when he says he hopes Roly keeps up that approach. If we stay the course, you would expect that to improve.

Then there is the goal kicking.

We really do need to up our skills by hand and foot. I would expect the decision making to improve as our skills improve.
