You just keep that boycott going. Did you have little placards in your lounge room while you watched the game?

First night at the stadium was pretty good except...

Did anybody else find the relentless cacophony almost unbearable?

The relentless noise at peak volume (at least for us in sect 139) was a real turn-off. The music was ceaseless and at too high a volume. Whenever an over-excited person (they were all over-excited) said anything in the sound system it reverberated around so as to be completely indistinguishable. Music never stopped, not for player entrances or anything. At half-time in our location, people were huddled over facing each other trying to get close enough to have a conversation - to the extent that after half time no-one had-noticed that the players had arrived back on the field - too busy trying to converse over the cacophony from the sound system. So much for the roar of the crowd to start a quarter - it seems the music was far more important.

The effect was like being a mouse at the bottom of a 44 gallon drum, while someone simultaneously banged as hard as they could on the sides of the drum and shouted at you from the top.

I think I saw someone who looked like Paul Haselby being interviewed on the screen at one point... couldn't make out a word he was saying.

For the record, I love going to rock concerts, but this was completely out of place.

Loved almost everything, but not the cacophony. Light show was awesome, and all the TV station need to do is bring their own light to shine on whoever they are interviewing.
No one else will say it, so I will - Well done to Margetts and Dalgleish to temporarily forget that they hate Freo. In the first half they were a bit too influenced by the crowd, and when Matera got 2 frees for high tackles I started to understand what being an Eagles supporter must be like.

Yeah, Trizzie. They need to employ a proper stadium sound engineer instead of letting some bloke of the radio turn the dial up t 11.

You know you've got your sound up too loud when you have to turn it down to hear a football siren.

Great seats, view, game, TNT etc but yep agree music/interviews on big screen distorted no idea what was being said but don't really care.
Only real gripe was trains, yep looks like they are looking after Joondalup, Mandurah, Freo and yes I live in Kelmscott and catch that godforsaken Armadale train. Took 2hrs from Kelmscott - kept being told 'sorry there are delays on Armadale line we apologise for inconvenience'. Left home at 3 to just get into seat at 4.55 so only saw some of pre game stuff. Then on way back couldn't get on 2 trains and told next one would be platform 5 and at front so thought yippee will get a seat but gee it came in some time later on platform 6, so last on, no seat for this pensioner! Thank god we won. Home about 9.20 watched replay happy again.

Oh and poor bloke standing next to me with 2 little ones who usually catches Mandurah train to Subi but thought as kids get tired, it would be quicker to drive to Armadale and catch that train as no need to go via Perth, he won't be making that mistake again!

RR, just wait til Matera, Langdon, Wilson, and Banfield are dropped or out injured and see what you think of Dean and Jeff.

Kelmscott trains are traditionally slow because they have to continually stop the trains to shoo the swamp people away.

and trains don't work well without wheels.

The light show was a bit of a novelty. I give it about a month, then it will be pretty tiring.

I honestly don't understand why there needs to be music to fill every nook, cranny and bastion of silence in this modern world. To be honest, the selection was neither here nor there but it actually was hard to talk tactics to the bloke next to you at the quarter breaks. Although the old man's mouth was moving and I was wanting to hear another crack at players these days kicking snaps at goal rather than drop punts off the mark, the only noise I got sounded like some young dude having a crack at Ed Sheeran at a karaoke bar.

By the way, I found the cupholders exceedingly cornball. Meh, even!

The light show will change - Footy Classified among others haven't stopped laughing at the Bell/Mundy interview where they just weren't sighted. They stated obviously we didn't think of TV viewers. Therein lies the problem, heads will roll, must cater for TV, not that I really care

But all they need is a portable light to shine on the bloke they are interviewing. Too easy?
