The Hunters/Collectors thing worked - you could feel this change at the stadium last night. People around me all kind of went silent and focussed on the coin toss. Maybe it had something to do with the way the instrumentation translated so well to an open air venue, maybe it was just the familiarity of the tune. Not sure, but if a collective synergy was what the were aiming for, that tune really worked (in my opinion).
The Purple Rain thing failed miserably, especially with that stupid phoney rain superimposition stuff. A lot of effort went into it, but it looked stupider than the Slime's bouncey castle race thing.
It's too bad they can't synchronise the lights to the beat as well - just a whole lot of flashing going on really, like a Chicago drug bust in winter.
