The light show worked well for the after-game interviews as well. From black out to retina damage every 2 seconds. Superbly thought out from start to finish. Top men and all that.
The best crowd interactions are spontaneous, and then sometimes take on their own life - the bell (not allowed any more) or the Freo chant.
The trouble with marketing johnnies (and I'm one myself, so I know how they think) is they try and take these crowd inspired things and manufacture them. You can't bottle this stuff and sell it as game day experience.
I'm still not convinced port Adelaide fans weren't over the stadium renos and were actually singing, never tear us a new tarp...
