Jason, Jason, Jason...Banfield into the middle? Are you serious? A hard-working, aggressive ball winner into the middle? Would be a great idea but alas I fear he has been earmarked as a "pressure forward". That may be his lot in life, he may dream of crossing into the centre square at bouncedowns, getting the hard ball and feeding others etc, but his reality may well be the highly distinguished and prestigious role of "pressure forward".

I think we have a very talented list. I think we have numerous players that given the opportunity, have flair and X-Factor in spades.

I also think that for whatever reason, they look like a group who've had their AFL soul sucked out of them. Don't know if anyone remembers a kids movie from the 80s called the Dark Crystal. There were these hideous creatures called Skeksis and to stay young they hunted the cute little Gelfling. Then they sucked out the Gelflings' life essence, drank it, which made them young again. Ross Lyon and the coaching group are the Skekis and their sucking the life out of our young team.

We are wasting valuable time, our gun midfield is in its prime right now. The reason for the excitement this year is that our balance is just about perfect. The only thing missing is allowing players to play a normal game of AFL.

For goodness sake, let the players play in their natural positions and let them play. This oppressing of natural talent must be heartbreaking for the likes of McCarthy and Kersten, both of which are quality players who need to be played in their normal forward positions. They are asked to run around like headless chooks for the entire game.

I cannot remember the last time I saw a simple passage of play that resulted in a leading chest or leaping mark to a Dockers forward (outside of the JLT). Every goal we've scored in the last 24 months seems to take so much effort.

Something has to change and for me I honestly believe Ross Lyon is no longer healthy for the Fremantle Dockers,

As of 8 min left in the 2nd quarter, Lance has is currently 2 points behind the west coast team.. Could easily have 10+ by the end of the match.

Round 1 of a long season.. Judging by the peel practice match, Hamling played well, Dixon kicked 6, Apeness kicked 3. Cox took some marks down back and our young mids found plenty of the ball.

I don't see a problem playing the likes of Ballantyne or D Pearce in Round 1 whilst a few of the youngsters are still finding their feet. But when they do find their feet, I don't expect to see much of them for the rest of the year. I'm sure they will bounce back.
