Be interested to see who is the traveling emergency... if it’s Hamling he will come in for sure.. I’m pretty sure he has been injured and missed a lot the pre-season though

D. Pearce I'm OK with as back up for S. Hill.

Hamling is our best back and his omission is a complete mystery.

Sutcliffe on a wing? OMG. He plays OK on Darling but a wingman he is not and I'll dread everytime he goes near it.

B. Hill at HFF is also a mystery.

No wonder we're $4.10 and +27.5.

I'm hoping Roly and his match committee is doing a Boris.

Ethan Hughes is the travelling emergency... Hamling didn't get on the plane...

I would have Hughes over Sutcliffe every day of the week and twice on Saturday. Very solid in 18 games he played last year and didn’t make the escaped goat list once. Doesn’t do the special things but does what a footballer should, present an option, takes the mark and moves the ball on without turning it over.

So does that mean Hamling isn't in our best 23 players?

Ross got on his spreadsheet and sorted by minutes played during preseason, Hamling didn’t make the benchmark. So he is playing for Peel to get match fit.

Having Johnson play as an accountable tall worries me, he is great as the third tall and playing loose but being accountable is not his strength.

According to Dockerlanders we will get thumped. Just going through our ladder predictions (So you think you know footy) for the year and 45 of us think the Power will finish above us at the end of the year, while only 13 of us thought Freo would finish higher. So given that, and it being a Power home game, we are no chance?

I'm sure Ross has only run with Pearce and Sutcliffe for some maturity around all the youth.
As for knowing what you're gonna get with Danell: it s a bit like you've been catching herring all morning, what makes you think your next fish is gonna be a pink Snapper. Its possible but not even 1% likely

Agree Quasi but how many minutes did Hughes do to be no 23 player? I do like Hughes by the way but just feel Hamling should be there, preferably in place of Johnno.

They mentioned on 6PR this morning that Hamling had not done enough match-play work over the pre-season and match committee won't take players into games who are 'underdone.' Hamling is an outstanding defender. He'll be back. Just not for this game.

I reckon Ross is making him pay for remotely considering attending a wedding (albeit as a groomsman) over a pre season footy game..
The fact that he did attend is an indication that he may have taken Ross's subtle hints about "yeah go of course you can - its your mates wedding" the wrong way...

Okay, but that rule doesn't apply to Brad Hill obviously. And Stephen Hill should be back by about round 6? as he's done none.
