Why would we throw a kitchen sink or two at McGovern? Who’s he going to replace, Hamling and A Pearce look like being our two key defenders for years to come and Luke Ryan is taking 10+ marks every time he plays.

We don't need Mcgovern...we have Hamiling and A pearce. The question is on Johnno...does he need to be replaced with another tall? I don't think so, Johnno has principally been a loose man in defence, a mopper-up so to speak. We have other young guys in the wings rather than coming up with over a milliion a year for mcgovern....

Mcgovern played well in a poor side today, they seemed disinterested, maybe the heat.

I agree. That’s the first time we haven’t played to his strengths by lobbing the ball high for him to mark or spoil. Make him try and win it at ground level and he’s just another defender.
Lots to like in our preseason. Finally playing a different kind of footy.
