Leadership groups have changed a bit. Once they were a few players that were looked up to, and showed leadership on the field. After entities like Leading Teams convinced most of the league that peer pressure bullying was the key to success, leaderships groups took on a lot more importance, including deciding on sanctions to players who stuff up. In a real sense, these days Harley Bennell’s career is as much the hands of the leadership group as the coach and managers of the footy club.
I don’t necessarily subscribe to that approach, but if that’s the way things are done I reckon you need a good mix of players in that group that reflects the make-up of your squad. The mix looks pretty good to me.
