Dear Dockerlanders, it is that time of year when, once again, you outline your football credentials by indicating how successful will be each of the eighteen AFL teams in the HomeNaway season. Just before Round 1, I will scrape your carefully considered opinions from this thread so they may be analysed at the end of the year.
Now I am not asking you to pick the order of the AFL ladder at the end of Round 23; I am asking you to place the AFL clubs into four bands.
- Which four team will comprise positions one to four at the top of the ladder?
- Which four teams will make it to the finals in positions five through to eight?
- Which four teams will just miss out on making the finals in positions nine through to twelve?
- And finally, which six teams will finish at the bottom of the AFL ladder?
So your predictions will look something like this...
- Top four: Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Collingwood
- Bottom of the top eight: Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong, Gold Coast
- Just missing finals: Greater Western Sydney, Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne
- Cellar dwellers: Port Adelaide, Richmond, St Kilda, Sydney, West Coast eGurls, Western Bulldogs
But before we pull out the Ouija for 2018, let's see how we did last year. Hmmmm... We prognosticated really, really badly. A couple of you stood out, however. Raise your glass everyone to PurpleMao! PM picked 12 teams in their correct bands, two better than PurpleThai.

Ok- Based on the 26 legible sets of votes cast so far,
and making provisions for people who can't count to 4 and are not aware there are 18 teams in the comp..
The algorithm predicts the following
1 to 4 Giants, Swans, Cats, Crows
5 to 8 Bullies, Eagles, Hawks, Dockers
9 to 12 Saints, Demons, Suns, Power
13 to 18 Bombers, Magpies, Tigers, Roos, Lions and Blues
and yes they are in order from 1 to 18

I would do a chart showing vote spread per team- but its lunch now!
