I've said it heaps before, but I reckon Bond and his team get a bit too much stick for their drafting/trading. We roughly traded pick 5 (and a chance at SPS) for Logue, McCarthy and Hamling. Add some stellar late picks (something we've been pretty good at) and it's shapes to be an excellent recruiting year (even better if Cammac can put it together). In a good team Kersten would probably be a fringe player, but that's a fair result for the fourth round pick we traded to get him.
We backed it up by swindling GC17 last year.
It's also worth noting that before Logue our first picks in the draft were 13th, 27th, 17th, 17th, 16th and 20th. That, by design of the league, makes drafting and trading a bit trickier for clubs finishing in the top 4.
But to be honest, if I had Bond's noggin, I'd probably want to keep my hat on.
