Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the point of AFLX to be something people play, rather than being a spectator sport? The AFL has a small problem that people like me play footy right up until the later years of high school, then give it away because they can't commit to two nights a week of training and playing on a weekend, and people in non-footy states (or overseas) find it hard to find a field, let alone fill it with 36 people.
Compare that to social basketball or five-a-side soccer, when if you want to play once a week you only have to commit an hour on a weeknight, and only have to find a handful of mates.
The problem is people rarely play something they've never seen, which is why they are promoting it with AFL players.
Besides, by their advertising they've promised to light their farts on fire in a giant X, so there's definitely something in it for everyone.
