You can't just belittle the entire league, and woman footballers, to account for Fremantle's terrible showing. That's poor form even by your standards, Jezza.

Fremantle haven't been remotely competitive. If they don't improve over the next two months, the AFL will take the license back.

I didn't watch any of the weekend's footy, but, as is my Godgiven right as an Australian sports consumer, that does not stop me from commenting.

Scoring is obviously a problem across the entire league. Some are saying it is because the games are shorter in duration.

From the little AFLW I have seen, I reckon they could play for a couple of days and they'd still struggle to amass much of a score.

It is Not Very Good and our team is particularly scheisse.

So what is to be done?

Well, we have form here. The women's team.needs a few characters whose personality captures hearts in spite of the accompanying skillset.

Lets start by ditching the current captain. Being nicknamed Juddy tells me everything I need to know about what is wrong. We don't need a poor copy of the wrong thing to start with.

Get a captain with her own nickname and tell us why it's a good one.

Get us some women Wolves. We need the chick version of a Clive. We need these sheilas to stand up and out of the corporate dross and be PEOPLE who we can't help but support.

Stop talking about what the league could be or standing in the shadow of the blokes..

Let us know who these women are and why we should think they are Freo.

If they are genuinely Freo, well, ****, they're ours and we're behind them.

I know its a lot to ask, but could someone offer media training to our players? I'm thinking the comments after that game might go something like, "Well, we were thoroughly pantsed in the first half and while it may have looked better after that they had put the cue in the rack and changed into their slippers and smoking jackets by then. To be honest I think our main problem is that we didn't realise we were going to be playing footy. Management spoke to use and explained that we are part of some AFL grand plan and we should just get out there and do what we are told. Then marketing had a talk to us about hair style snd tatts. The coach was telling us not to play footy how we wanted, but to kick it backwards and sideways at every opportunity. When we got out there the Bullies told us that we couldn't have the ball, and we'd already got into trouble for arguing with marketing, so we just let them have it. Only after half time did we realise we were supposed to be trying to win."

First of all, I find the irony of those 'get a game plan' adverts from the new stadium guys really annoying. All we have to so is get to/from the place, not win a game - maybe Michelle can come up with something (after all, Zorro's got his bus route figured months before the season begins).

Secondly, I have a mate who used to run a small art gallery in Northbridge. A few years back he organised an evening of performance art events and literally dozens of people crammed into the place for it. I said he should have asked for a gold coin entry (or something). He said you could never charge for entry as people would then have the right to ask for their money back (If they figured it didn't deliver). Very good point - I assume that's why all the AFLW games are free. All except this Saturday's game. $2 doesn't seem like much, but as soon as you hand over cash for something a whole bevy of consumer protection regs kick in.

I don't reckon Craypot Control, Cockburn Command or Michelle have considered that. I do think The Yeti has (and probably a few others here).

They don't have to worry about refunds, they have to worry about people never going back again. I'm currently watching Korea play China in the Olympic Mixed Curling and, while there's been a lot of criticism around Hyeji Jang's broom work, she has not disappointed tonight.

My point being, it's not that hard to keep my attention but I don't think I could sit through another game like the last one.
