My head is buried in my hands at most games for the last few years. Self-restricted viewing.

Where's my discount?

At least you knew the glass and bars would be there from the Virtual Seats. I went in row 2 knowing row 1 would be an issue, problem is my block has the glass in front of row 2 (not shown on virtual tour).

The club is aware peoples disappointment and are happy to look at other options. I went there this morning.

How does a footbridge into the city solve the transport issues of people heading home in the opposite direction?

Bloke I know has just discovered his eagles membership seat is blocked by something.

He raised it with the OOFTITS who told him its AFL policy that if you can see 2/3s of the oval, your view is not restricted ...

And he’s decided that’s acceptable ...

I assume this is some sort of Zen riddle you've devised, hypen.

How long before you could expect the current or a future W.A government needing to spend $50m plus making changes to the access, parking and exit options for the stadium? All this arising from Barney’s flight of ego in deciding to place the stadium adjacent to the JP pokey precinct.

Here's the thing that's always worried me about the transport away from the stadium, after the game. Transperth have some KPIs that they are happy to point to about moving X number of people out of the stadium precinct after an event. They seem to meet this target. But, what about those who are trying to catch a southbound train from Perth station? Does anyone know if the transport plan includes putting on more capacity (i.e., trains, people who drive the trains) so that we can expect to not wait long at Perth Station for a Mandurah-bound train. Or, do the Mandurah-bound trains just run on whatever schedule they are on, except now there will be double, triple, quadruple the number of people trying to catch the train southbound.

Something tells me I'll be spending a lot of time on a platform or standing up in a train, packed like sardines, on a train that doesn't move, even though Transperth will tout that its reached its KPIs.

They're not inexperienced at moving large numbers of people on the Mandurah train line.

I'll give it a crack.

"How does a footbridge into the city solve the transport issues of people heading home in the opposite direction? "

If you imagine the footbridge is is going OUT of the city, rather than into the city, you are technically going in the opposite direction to the tangential direction of your home, perpendicular to the oblong ellipse that is the stadium. Factoring Pi into the equation isn't really helping, so you must ignore your basic maths instincts and go with the flow.

In other words, get the hell outa there any which way you can, just hurry the f@#k up.

I agree, that during peak times, during the week, there's a train leaving Perth Station for Mandurah every 5 or so minutes, and around every 10 minutes outside peak times. On Saturdays and Sundays during 'daylight' it's around every 15 minutes, and 25-30 minutes in evening times.

Anyone who's been to the blockbusters so far - was it easy to get going on the Mandurah line after the event? Just wondering, that's all.

Sorry Jooter, I can't comment on the Mandurah line but I will say that my experience on the Joondalup line after the BBL was nothing but positive.
I waited until the last wicket fell before leaving my seat, took the escalators down from the top level without even having to queue more than a few seconds, walked straight over to a waiting train, waited about 5 minutes for it to fill, then it went express straight through Perth Station to arrive at its first stop on the Northern line at Leederville station about 20-25 minutes after I had left my seat.

For Fremantle fans on the Northern line I think you will be stoked.

Mind you the smooth run was mainly due to half the crowd leaving early because the Scorchers were losing, so WC supporters will probably be the real winners.

But what is the Joondalup line like when they Poms are playing AP? That will give you a good idea of it's ability to handle full loads. ( In both senses of the phrase)
