That there is an ‘event’ at the new Perth Stadium that basically involves walking around an empty stadium that will be attended by 100,000 people is testament to the strangely provincial way Perthlings react to anything new. It's embarrassing.

So, uh, see you there?

Because if it was a bigger city they'd get 200,000?

Working all this weekend , So missed out . Got tickets to the Freo vs Collingwood AFLW match. So i have to sit through a AFLW match to see the stadium . All jokes aside should be a good day

When you say " provincial" are you referring to Burswood location?

A more embarrassing admission is the inability to avoid capped crowd numbers during peak hours unless you can convince 15,000 punters that walking via the east Perth bridge is a great idea.

Honest question: did anyone spot Dixie Marshall's free parking spot?

I have to admit I’m really looking forward to seeing the stadium... so I reckon I must be a Perthling :D

The good news is that I didn't run into the Eagle supporter who I'll be sharing my seat with.

Unfortunately...

what a magnificent stadium, first impression as you walk in for the first time is the space, all around the walking areas, even from the station ,we are on level three ,what a view, sound system is very good, the tv screenns ,huge,at both ends.
and lastly the gage roads plae ale is very very good, and well drank after walking around for an hour.
can definitely see where 1.5 bil went.
toilets about every 30metres,the ladies will love that,we did not try the food, but it looked different .
spoke to ron alexander in the bar,he poured out a lot of figures regarding the process to get it to this far, amazing,he was very proud to be part of it.there were far more freo shirts etc walking around than toast.
looking forward to going to the aflw game ,will be a huge crowd.

Interesting that there are so many Freo shirts etc around. In the West/Seven coverage, it's exclusively Ooftit (most of them saying how wonderful Colin Barnett is).

I'm quite miffed there isn't a 90-day dry-aged hotdog on the menu like I used to get at Subi

Fantastic venue, totally happy as with my seats, pretty sure you will be with yours too no matter where they are.
The finished product will be even better, you know with a ball, players, umpires n stuff.

Happy with my seats in Block 108....right between the signs that say 107. Even event staff thought it odd.
Wonder how the trains will cope with 60,000 WC fans leaving at 3/4 time though.
