So according to Champion Data we have the least talented starting 22 in the comp. Probably worth keeping our expectations in check for another couple of years at least.

You have to rack up significant stats in order to gain an 'elite' rating from Champion Data.

I just didn't know they collected stats on 'ducking for free kicks', although I'd be the first to acknowledge that Shuey would be an 'elite ducker' or something like that

If they're confident in their modelling , and the premiership team is the 9th most talented, then what they're telling us is that being the most talented team has little bearing on who wins and therefore it's a complete waste of time measuring it.

You'd think at some point they'd stop bothering.

So according to CD, a team of champions are far more superior than a champion team. And that Freo’s best 22 is perhaps the least competitive of the 18 AFL teams. I’m not sure about the cost of the 2018 AFL Prospectus compiled by CD. It’s certainly keeping a lot of people employed.
