It's that time of year again when the Dockerland message board shuts down and footy supporters all over Fremantle rub their eyes and head outside for a few weeks.

So the message board will be read only from Saturday until the 18th of January or so.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the site over the past year, particularly Heather for sending in the photos, everyone who has visited and all the coaches, medicos, sports scientists, data analysts, dietitians and and administration staff who worked tirelessly throughout the season. Oh, and the players. I'm sure a couple of them contributed in some way too.

That covers the Dockerland mob, you could have given those at the club a bit of credit too you know.

Have a great Christmas break, catch up on all that is happening in the big wide world, ( and quickly realise why Freo and Dockerland is a safer place to be), watch a bit of cricket and Pennant Bowls if withdrawl symptoms start to bite, and see youse all when we line up in the midfield next year.

It's a privileged posting on this site. The balanced argument and banter is why I keep coming back. Some posts goes through to the keeper and that's why, Shane you deserved plenty of plaudits. Thanks for everything this year Shane - some highs and many lows on the field, but the Message Board was always alive and worth reading. Some brilliant and insightful thoughts by a few, some entertaining rants (my favourite was The Yeti on Tabs) and some bottom of the barrel stupidity - all in all, very funny. I think we all recognise the effort put in to keeping this forum ticking along - from the surge in vitriol after a stupid loss to the endless discussion around our nutter coach. The extras (like the Doig Medal relay and the quick draft pick profiles) were wonderful.

[cough, cough, cough - sorry 'bout that Drubbing, gotta start chewing gum or something]

I would like to think that everyone here has more to look forward to than remembering from the past 12 months. Have a good holiday everyone, enjoy your loved ones and lend a hand to someone in need (if you're able to). Stay safe and well - sheesh, sure...even Slammy.
