I was lucky enough to score a couple of tickets to the Dockers Foundation ball on Saturday night at Subiaco oval.
They had a marquee set up over the center square and all the current players were there as far as I could tell.
They had some fantastic highlights of the last 20 years on big screens inside the marquee as it was meant to be (another) farewell to Subi.
The only disappointing thing was they didn't have some of the great players from yesteryear on the stage to reminisce about the great and not so great times they had on that turf.
It would have been good to see the names like Neesham, Macmanus, Longmuir,Cook,Carr's, Kickett,Waterhouse,Farmer etc who featured in those highlights to speak about the past.
Still a good night (freebie as well) and got a "showbag" with a piece of Subi turf to take home.
