His grand parents are in Perth. I think they determined that this would reduce the go home factor. He seemed genuinely happy to be picked by Freo. I like that. In the photos of him and his brothers one of them was wearing Freo paraphernalia. Might have been Angus?

I'm going to put it out there. Grandma and Grandpa Brayshaw could be Freo supporters. Maybe one is the other supports the Slime, with younger Brayshaw drafted by them.

I wonder how Brayshaw’s time on 6:15 compared with Sheridan’s? Think Tommy might be losing his spot

I think we've got an absolute gem. LDU would be spewing that the Roos picked him up.

This is a stretch at 2 and by the looks of it, due to Brayshaw being less of a flight risk. Could have easily picked him at 5 if we were so keen, no one else was.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Rumour has it that late he he was in consideration for no1 maybe he would have not lasted to 5 given north Melbourne connection, but Cerra would. I wonder how we ranked those two was Cerra higher than Brayshaw

Cerra would have been taken by North at 4 if LDU wasn't available, he was a good pick at 5 even if I did prefer Stephenson. The only other side with a high pick interested in Brayshaw was Brisbane (which must have been due to weighting him less of a flight risk) and they passed on him for the more talented player.

I thought LDU was going to be our No. 2. What tipped the scales IMO was the draft combined testing. Brayshaw's numbers was sensational. They were opposition captains in the U18 all stars game. I think it got down to the flight risk prospect and the Lloyd factor. Clearly the Intel was significant. So then it was about North's pick at 4. I think Cherry Boy will excite us.

Corporal Agarn Pick #2 - Andrew Brayshaw 6 years 5 months ago #12

In your haste to slaver over every decision that Fremantle make and as their most positive spin doctor you say some strange things that i just don't understand.

"I'm going to put it out there. Grandma and Grandpa Brayshaw could be Freo supporters." ?? What does that mean and have to do with anything? That he could stay at Freo because of his grandparents. That they could be there for every game? Could be, but don't actually know.

"LDU would be spewing that the Roos picked him up." Why? He's from Victoria so he stays at home. He's built like a brick s**thouse and is ready to go and he'll be playing in a side where he will be a walk up start. Plus both NM and us are in rebuilding phases.

An obvious candidate here, but it's hard to overlook Davies-Uniacke as a prospect who will be able to make an impact in his debut season. If he can stay fit, Davies-Uniacke should play a large chunk of senior footy next year as one of the most complete midfielders who was available in the draft. He's big, strong, tough and explosive and is a great result for the Roos.

The top 6 mids were by all accounts, considered as good as each other. We got 2 of them. No good quibbling about which one is better. Damn if you do damn if you don't. Had it not been for a few head knocks, Angus Brayshaw would have slaughtered the past 2 seasons. Young Andrew is cut from the same cloth. That is rock solid evidence, your honour. LDU, like I said would be wishing he'd come to Freo. North Melbourne are going no where fast and you can take that to the bank.

There is a parallel with the Hill/Rich choice a few years ago. Brayshaw and Cerra are two safe Rich like picks who should be very good players if they stay around. LDU and Stephenson would have been more unpredictable Hill like picks with exciting potential. With hindsight I think we have two gems.
