People can handle mid strength. In fact I've seen no evidence of anyone ever getting drunk off Carlton Mid. I maintain it is physiologically impossible.

Which is why the yahoos (or yahoo-adjacent types like me) make sure to get a skinful before they enter the ground.

That's an arrangement I could live with at Subi where I could get a beer 10 minutes from the ground. It doesn't work so well if the closest establishment will need cattle prods to deal with the crush, and the rest of the pubs are 30 minutes away from the ground.

The police commissioner was on 6pr this morning saying they weren’t worried about full strength at the stadium because they have very little trouble at the footy these days. Although that could also be because they don’t sell full strength at the footy anymore. He said the 70’s was much worse, and the cricket is awful.

I have seen very little drunkenness in the last 15 years. Foul language is a much bigger problem to me.

I get it - got to appease the corporates but who do you think will cop the flak when some knob (who fronts up to the footy once a year) with a gut full of the good stuff gets a bit lippy and starts with the non PC verbals?

There is every chance the brush paints all of the long suffering members who are probably on the watered down version of a craft beer.

What I don't get is why beer is singled out, when the feral opposition fan's tipple of choice near us at Subi appeared to be cans of pre-mixed spirits. At 4.5% they're the same alcohol level as full strength beer, and by having a relay going within a group of 4-5 scumbags, they could be pretty much slaughtered by half time. Much like Freo.
