Here's one thing about Sheedy I'll never forget. Remember Freo's first final against the Bombers? All the hype was about Freo making a final and Sheedy, days before the game, helped ramp up the hype - historical this, groundbreaking that - and that was the tone going into the game. Anyway, the day of the final, at least a couple of hours before the match, I happened to be waiting outside Subi Oval for a friend who had my ticket and Sheedy strolls by (the story goes he had a friend in Subiaco who he stayed with). I call out to him, "Kevin, how's it going?" He let out the biggest ****-eating grin I've ever seen and sort of winked at me, like he knew he had the game in the bag. I've never forgotten that. It's like he ramped up the hype to 10, and we sort of know what happened on the night....
