So, an AFL list consists of anywhere between 38-40 players on the main list and between 4-6 Rookie list players dependent upon the number on the main list. Total Main list + Rookie = 44.
Teams are also allowed up to 2 Category B Rookies (International). = 46
Our current list stands at 34 players TOTAL. 30 Main & 4 Rookie (Dumin, Grey, Nyhuis, Strndadica).
It means we have space on our list for up to 10 players, 12 assuming Rookie B. Assuming we upgrade all four Rookies, that would mean we need to draft/sign 6. We currently have 9 (2, 5, 42, 60, 66, 71, 79, 83, 97) draft picks. Will we seriously draft down to 71, in a draft that is considered weak, or is there a F/S, Academy pick that we have that we need draft points for?
Particularly when we have traded away a lot of 2018 ("Super-Draft" points/picks)....
List considerations:
Only 2 recognised Ruckmen (Strndaica may be a long term prospect, but we all know Ross likes insurance here, and in 2013, we needed ruckman #4 (Jack Hannath) to play lead ruck, Sandi is injury prone).
What delisted free agents would come close to getting a game for us?
