Strikes me as a guy who got the best out of his ability, and gave his all every time he played. You have to admire a player like that.

If I was a young team on the rise looking for some toughness, depth and veteran leadership (like Essendon and Melbourne), I'd take a good look at using a roster spot on him.

Always gave 110%, always gave away 2-3 frees a game but my main concern is that I hope we have enough "heavyweight leaders" left to coach the kids how to play, train etc. with De Boer, Mzungu, Barlow and Co moving on.....
The rebuild is officially on with 8 new draftees but "The Boss" needs to refect this by playing the kids rather than the old boys .

The first time I registered Suban, was in his first year and he was running interference for Pav, getting in the face of some opposition a-holes and scaring them away. A first year!

I thought then that was a bucket load of leadership and that he would be captain someday. Not to be, but he'll be just the ticket at either Gold Coast or Giants.

I remember Suban (former Vic Country U18 captain) revving up the fresh, new recruits (S. Hill, De Boer, Walters?) after a 3Q time huddle ended in 2009?

Thought - this fella is going to be captain one day.
