Finally! My Quay Club membership has come in useful for something and I was allowed to change my seat allocations today.
I'm organising seats for a group of 4, and it was disappointing to see how little real choice there is left. So many whole sections and blocks of seats are already allocated, or unavailable, with only singles or pairs of seats left, unless you're happy to sit on back row of the nosebleeds, or down on the front row, on the boundary.
But, after 40 minutes on hold, I was able to secure 4 seats together in section 522, row 3. Not cheap, but not costing too much more than we paid for our old seats at Subi Oval, and we're under cover, well away from the afternoon sun, which seems like it might prove a problem in some parts of the ground.
The membership department also confirmed that stadium management have 'held back' a large number of premium seats for "their own use", not really sure what that means. Also, the 6000 or so seats supposedly being made available on a walk-up basis on game days are going to be situated in sections 101-107 and 150-158.
