You know when you’re surfing, some knobber yells ‘out the back’ and people start paddling out further on the promise of a much larger set? Well, that’s what happens when a draft expert says there’s a super draft coming. Everyone starts moving in the same direction.
The reality is most of the time the set right in front of you is perfectly fine and as everyone paddles away you get a nice wave to yourself. Sure, there might be a better wave in the next set, but there will 10 people going for it.
For the record, I reckon Johnny the Doc is the type of knobber who tells ‘out the back’ incessantly.
