A couple of years ago the club went through a review, in which they took recruitment - drafting and trading off bondy and gave it to Lloyd.

In the time lloyd has been in control, every move from McCarthy to Pick 2 this year has been Lloyd's doing. I'm not sure if he was in control when the bennell deal was done, but fair to say our trading has improved significantly since Lloyd took over from Bond

Sorry to see Weller go, but holding a grudge is BS. There's no complaints either way between him and the club. If Weller is starting a family being around the extended families is a great idea, especially as footy involves leaving your partner for a couple of days of travel every two weeks during the season. He also seems to have bumped his pay packet up - like a couple of my salaries at least - which should set him and family up in life long term. Hopefully he can adapt and succeed.

I won't be booing him. I'm not big on booing anyway.

The GC recruiting dept are in for a major overhaul, giving away 4x second round picks to get one future first rounder from wc, then still having to give up pick 2 for Weller.

Funny thing, if Lynch and May leave Gold Coast as has been suggested if they don't improve in next year or two, Lachie Weller could find himself being the highest paid player at the club. I'm not sure that he may be prepared for that eventuality and the pressure that would come with it.

I still can't believe how Freo pulled off the best deal in our club's history nearly 20 years after our worst deal of the club's history. Lets now look forward to the draft with 2 top 5 best juniors in the land, get them in, get their parents to move to Perth, set them up so we can win us a premiership by 2020. And btw Lachie who?

GC reckoned Weller was a 4-yr $800K/year player. Freo agreed and said, OK, we want your #2 pick. GC blinked, pooped its pants, and finally agreed because they promised Weller a trade.

Two things: (1) I'd love to know what Freo offered in their 4-yr offer to Weller and (2) If Weller is an 800K/year player, I'll go and eat my shorts.
