I would argue he would be perfect for us. He’s a mature age kid, 22, and a massive unit (205cm & 109kg). He’d have a year to learn off the great man, Sandi, and should be able to play a senior role straight away.

I doubt he’d cost us much in draft terms, is a local lad without the ‘go home’ factor and would fill the biggest hole in our list at present. Yes, I know there’s an argument about a power forward but we have Tabs & Apeness ostensibly in that role.

Can’t say I’ve heard much of him before this article but a few on here have no doubt seen a bit of him at WAFL level. Any comments??

From what I can gather (I.e. google) he’s from Busselton originally and has taken a few years to get over a broken leg in 2015 when he was expected to get drafted.

Has played 49 Ressie games since 2014 & 15 League games this year averaging 4.8 kicks, 5.9 handballs, 3.9 marks, 2.3 tackles and 20 hitouts. He also kicked 9.4. One down side is he gives away 2 frees for everyone 1 he gets - but that should just prepare him for the AFL umpiring bias against us (sarcastica font engaged).

But he has been playing against mature bodies for a few years and his tank is probably a bit more advanced that Hodor’s.

Hard to see a downside if we pick him up with a third rounder or even rookie list him if he slips though the draft.

I think you're forgetting Jason, we already have an heir apparent to Sandi and his name is Sean Darcy. Geez I know we know we need some back up but it's a bit soon to be anointing someone not yet on our list as being the one to learn from Sandi and then take his spot.
On another note would it be worth enquiring after Tom Nicholls on the Gold Coast list but being shopped around as a trade option. Very athletic talented big man.

At the risk of immediate ridicule could I suggest Drew Petrie via the Rookie List, the other mob think that with their saviour returning that big Drew was surplus to requirements but from what I could see he still has 2 years handy service left in him. A pretty handy back-up if we needed one, just saying.

I know the Jones boy. His dad played for Perth back in the day. Parents are massive slime supporters and can't stand Freo so it would amuse me greatly if we did get him. He always barracked for the Bombers though.
Has only cracked a regular game this year as he couldn't force his way into the slime reserves due their abundance of ruckmen.
Personally I see him as very similar to Darcy. Both big lumbering types who win a lot of knocks but don't get a lot of disposals.
I guess he would be available low in the draft, but I think someone like Hayes would be more what we need as a forward/ruckman and a good balance to Darcy.

We don't need another ruck to play yet , we have Sandi for one more year, Darcy has proven he can play main ruck, Apeness-200cm was drafted as a ruck/forward option and Strnadica - 200cm is 4th back up.

We should rookie draft one up and coming ruck kid that can be developed over time.

Use pick 5 on best available player and use our pick around 41 on Liam Ryan (if he is still their) I'm still shitty at Shane Yarran for waiting until after last years draft to announce hi retirement, we could have used that pick on Liam Ryan.
