I hate to go afoul of all the tech-heads who have an array of nifty patch-plug-fiddle solutions to Larkin's problem, but here's a front/back portrait of my trusty tranny:
An $8 Dick Smith AM/FM when new, it evolved into a Picasso model after I forgot it on the dashboard of my ute one summer's day in Northam. Funny thing is, it got stuck on the 531 AM band of the ABC's Regional station after that - you can turn the dial all you want, it's just stuck on that station. As such you get the broadcasts out of Geraldton/Kalgoorlie or Albany - depends on where you are in country WA. Most of the time I get the Geraldton broadcast - you still get Richard Fidler at 11am on weekdays, but only have 90 minutes of Geoff Hutchinson earlier (and no Belly at the crack of dawn).
I'm no geophysicist, but Geraldton is more than 11k away and you won't have to use the wrong end of your binoculars to watch the telly. The delay is in-built with this thing, powered up by 2 x AA batteries it will keep you company for a lifetime. I've seen those slick European digital things you take to the footy Larks - if you want a swap for the cricket season just let me know.
