When I can't go to the game I like to watch it on TV and listen to the radio as it has much better commentators and on the ABC I dont have to listen to the commercials. The problem is the telecast is delayed about 3 seconds or so – even with digital radio the sound and action is not synched.

What I need is an application to delay my radio feed to synch it with the TV.

Any ideas?

Put the radio a bit further away from the TV, that might help. Getting the exact 2 second delay will take some trial and error, so start experimenting with the cricket broadcasts.

i get around the problem by providing my own commentary.
It usually goes something like this-

Aaaarrghhh, ya ****** f***in d****head, KICK the f****in thing, oh fir f**k sakes, what are you doing, jeeeeeezus Freo, what the blazes?
Ya mob of useless ****'s, where the hell did they find these umpires, god help us all, bloody Sutcliffe, get off Sheridan, ooohhhh come on Tabs, mark the f***in thing etc.

Yoss, your commentry comes through loud and clear in my lounge room. Works well...and has done so for years.
Must profess though ...I'm pretty sure I don't hear the phrase "where the hell did they find these umpires?", too often.?
Theres at least 3 timely expletives thrown into that sentence.....!!

Larkin, do you know what a Raspberry Pi is?

I'll try and find the details but I had a go at it last year when Ian Healey started to get on my nerves (so probably lunch time of the first test).

You get a Raspberry Pi, a usb audio receiver and a radio. Plug them together and run an audio delay script that someone wrote.

I just gave it a go with the latest version Pi and it works pretty well. Although it probably needs a startup script so it's automatic.
