Shane nailed it on another post, Tabs has been signed up so we dont need to go for that other young ruckman and waste our number 5 pick. If Tabs can support Sandi/Hodor with a bit of help from Cox it allows us to safely release Hendrix and Griff from the list and pick up a backup ruckman for Hodor in another year or two.
If Tabs is back up ruckman it also allows us to actually play our back up ruckman concurrently in a match, unlike the current situation where it will be unlikely Sandi and Hodor will play many games together considering the modern penchant for speed and run.
It looks like this years pick 5 wont go for Hogan or a ruckman, probably not even Brander, simply once again the "best available" most likely a mid. Im Ok with this and in fact on paper at least our team is starting to look half decent.
I think Tabs will come good, Logue Im convinced is going to be a player and as for Luke Ryan, Im like Bizkits with SPS, sky`s the limit.
Another midfielder plus Bennell allows us to play Fyfe forward, or Blakely back, Mundy forward or Walters back to the forward line etc.
I think our forwards in McCarthy and Tabs are going to be fine, as long as our delivery to them is half decent and thats what Id be concentrating on at the trade and draft table. Elite decision makers with elite kicking skills. I dont care how tall or small they are.
