Deluca was strong and burrowed in but had poor disposal. Collins going shows that dominance at WAFL level means very little. I know the complaint was that he was too slow, but he did read the play well and took a good mark. Will Collins get picked up elsewhere? Probably not. Sheridan being signed for one year is a bit of an ultimatum...do something or you are gone! Anyway, seven down, seven spots to fill...

It would have to be a destination that he was keen on to have any currency. Otherwise he just walks into PSD, yeah? And having nominated his club of choice, based on previous years, he just ends up there by mutual consent.

Can somebody please shed some light on what the strategy is in delisting players, I don't understand why this done when they may be able to be used as part of other trades. Last year for example we deleted players that ended up on lists. There may be a simple explanation and I am missing it but I find it confusing.
Bummed about Collins I really thought he was a solid prospect.

The delistings are not surprising. We've got plenty of the Deluca types. Collins unfortunately was damaged goods once Hamling, Logue and Ryan stepped up. Like I said in another post, this clean out coupled with 2016 bears close resemblance to '08 & '09. It looks like we'll still have a strong hand in the draft. Pick 5 is going to be safe. There will be some champions in the making from 2018. Contrary to popular belief, our recruiting team have excelled in the last 2 exchanges and draft periods with the 2017 version to add the icing to a wonderful cake.

Maybe the likes of Mzungu or deboer would not have attracted a trade but were handy free pick-ups? I reckon that managers are involved and are usually sniffing around probable and possible scenarios well before recruitment does...and then deal with clubs, etc

I don't think they delisted anyone with a lot of currency but i get your point , It may just be that they want to do the right thing by the players ,Not leave them hanging for another 2 weeks or so till the end of the trade period. And also Giving them the opportunity to further careers where they can rather than tell them you are going to Adelaide or wherever as the set of steak knives in another deal.The other aspect is clubs are looking to top up their lists now if you wait until after the trade period you are robbing the player of an opportunity to find a new home
