These delistings, including 2 ruckmen, make me think the club is very confident with Darcy & Sandi (with Cox pinch-hitting) and have another ruckman in their sights this draft/trade period.
Similarly with the delisting of Collins, the club must be confident A.Pearce is over his injury troubles. Funny one this - he was a mature age recruit from Box Hill (played in their 2013 Premiership & losing GF's in 2014 & 15) who had been overlooked by all clubs prior to us picking him up in 2015. Showed a bit in 2016 - but probably couldn't have timed his entry any worse in terms of the poor team performances - but couldn't get a game in 2017 (2 only). Clearly with the recruiting of Hamling he fell back in the pecking order. Not sure he'll go on to be a star at the AFL level but who knows.
Deluca seems to have used his chances up having been drafted in 2014 then delisted & rookied in both 2015 & 2016. Has played in the last 3 winning WAFL Grand Final sides so might be an option for another club but again - unlikely to star at the AFL level, IMHO.
Do we read into all these delistings (particularly the 3 talls) that more talls are coming our way?? Maybe Hogan?
Hopefully this means with the imminent exit of Crozier & Balic, we've got the draft picks needed to pick up Wilson & Matera without sacrificing picks for next year.
I'm also assuming that Duman, Nyhuis and Strnadica are going to be retained (at least) on the Rookie list and that Suban is sticking around too.
I'll also throw out there the possibility (assuming the Hogan trade doesn't go through) that the club will trade this year's pick 5 for a couple of first round picks next year in what many are calling a 'super-draft'.
