Funny I was listening to Josh Mahoney (Melbourne) on Trade Radio just now and when D Barrett finally got round to the Jesse Hogan question he replied that "they were looking forward to Jesse playing a great year with them next year etc" BUT it was definitely not the unequivocal shut down I would have expected. Maybe I'm reading too much into it and I'm sure they are all well versed in making sure they don't ever closer a door completely but with the Lever deal done I would have expected that he would have completely shut it down so there was no doubt left in anyone's mind. I reckon it still a slim chance.

I'd like to hear a little more from Demo1 to reaffirm his initial position!!!

I have no inside goss at all, but I would have thought one of the best points of leverage we had was Melbourne wanting to trade for Lever. If they've managed to do that without us involved, and Watts has one foot out the door, then it becomes a more simple question of whether Melbourne is better off having Hogan or a few average draft picks. Melbourne would be crazy to trade Hogan on that basis.

But there's probably only a dozen or so players in the league that would be truly untouchable. Hogan isn't in that group, so anything is possible.

To be honest, I just wanted to post a picture of Guy Incognito because it amuses me.

Hi all, been away for a few days at the Caulfield Cup so apologies for the late clarification.
I've read with interest some of the comments and have had a few chuckles from the always witty DL posters.

Im sorry it hasnt worked out but can assure you there is real intent there from Jesse to come home.
The truth as told to me from a very close source is Jesse told Fyfe he wanted to come home and play for Freo and get a deal done.
They share the same management and that was the clubs way in to him. They have caught up many times this year.
Lloyd/Bond needed to come up with a satisfactory trade. No agreement could be reached and it was basically put in the too hard basket for late in the trade period. They are blaming Lloyd.
Apparently the Weller trade sidelined them a fair bit and in the end with some more time a deal may have been struck with our top 2 picks and a later first rounder coming back to us.

So unless things change drastically, Jesse wants to come home and play for us.
Will it be 2019 or 2020 or when he is a free agent in 2021?
We just need to make sure we are on the right path so he still wants to leave or that Melbourne do what Melbourne always do..
