Until someone can actually show me the Aussie Rules gene, I'm going to have to assume, when someone bangs on about "natural footballer", they're channelling some 1970's crusty, who wants to convince everyone they were a much better footy-player because they smoked a bucket'o'cancer and sank somewhere between 12 and 30 cans every Saturday night after the game.
Tell me a "natural footballer" isn't a combination of coordination, good reflexes, learned instinct, well matched physical conditioning, confidence and good problem solving, plus a few other random idiosyncratic attributes and maybe I'll believe someone can't go from seeming a non-natural footballer to a seemingly natural one from one season to the next.
